Rates for fishing and whale watching trips -- Port Lions Lodge, Kodiak Island, Alaska

Here's what is included in your fishing package price:

Round trip transportation from city of Kodiak to the lodge
Six nights accommodations at Port Lions Lodge
Five day fully-guided fishing trips via boat or plane (approximately 9 hrs. fishing time!)
The three daily meals provided are home cooked and served family style. Breads and desserts are baked fresh daily. We specialize in Alaska seafood entrees.
Salt water and spin fishing equipment is furnished.
All fish are cleaned, packaged, frozen and boxed properly for flights back home.

Not included: fly fishing gear, fishing licenses, waders, rain gear, alcohol, and gratuities

There are endless possibilities for activities. Here are some other possibilities:

Fly out bear viewing and kayaking are available upon request for an extra charge.

We suggest taking out trip insurance to cover unforeseen late cancellations. It covers emergencies while on your trip also.

Troll for trophy king salmon 50 to 80 pounds in the protected salt waters of Kodiak Island. Halibut are available at this time also.

Whales coming near the boats is common in the summer months We see so much extraordinary whale action in the month of May that we often take time off from fishing to watch. Whales breaching and rolling are a common occurrence. They feed amongst the same schools of bait that we fish and we often have to move to avoid them. They come parading by while we are anchored fishing for halibut and we have to make sounds to make sure they don't run into us. We have seen multiple whales breaching at the same time and sometimes they breach for hours. The continuous tail slapping show is also common. We have seen orca pods numbering well over 100 animals! But the most common have been humpback and fin whales. We have excellent boats for whale watching and offer discounts for groups. Call us for information.

June and July .......... $3095.00
Great fishing - breathtaking country Five day package of fishing for halibut, ling cod, black bass, dollies, pinks, chums, and trolling for kings and silvers all within 10-30 minutes from the lodge. Good time of year for spotting whales and photographing the abundant sea life. Salmon berries ready for picking too.

August and September .......... $3595.00
Stream fishing for silver salmon and deep sea fishing for halibut. This is typically the peak season for silvers and books early.
